e-Gov ICT Training Centre & Development 

ICT training center

 

ICT Training Centre was established as a sub-component of e-Government programme funded by UNDP. The centre is located within GRTS premises. It consist of 20 desktop computers, printers, LCD projector, LAN, UPS’s, patch panel & rack, switches, internet connection and furniture.

 

After its completion in November 2011, the centre hosted a 35-day technical training on Microsoft technology for e-Govt Data Centre personnel conducted by technology experts from Koenig, India. It was also the venue for the series of trainings on the use and operation of government e-mail system as well as web design and development. The centre was also used by Office of the Vice President (OVP) for their training on “ICT for Government Decision Makers” conducted by UNECA.

 

The centre will continually be used by MOICI to train focal persons on web development and maintenance and government personnel for future e-Govt sensitization training. The training facilities can also be used by other government agencies for their future ICT trainings.
